Monitoring and regulating the renewable sector
The Renewable Energy Guild is the only UK organisation to oversee the industry in its entirety, existing to support suppliers, installers and end-users, monitoring and regulating the renewable sector for the benefit of all.
As a domestic or commercial customer, we’re here to ensure that you receive only the highest quality products and installations, honest advice and exceptional service levels, with all of our members bound by our strict Code of Conduct.
Our accredited installers have been carefully selected by our professional management team and are constantly monitored and held accountable for the services they provide – with installation sign-offs and certificates only being issued upon approval by the Guild.
From initial enquiry to the finished result, our approved members are 100% committed to providing exceptional services. With a network of related support teams, every installation is managed on the customer’s behalf, ensuring a streamlined process and a hassle-free experience.
Every installation is allocated its own unique reference number and on completion, the installation will be registered and logged on the Renewable Energy Guild data base.
The customer is requested to fill in a service and satisfaction feedback email. This allows the Guild to track, review and sign off every project to ensure our required high standards are met and maintained without exception. Once this process is completed, you will be issued with your personal REG certificate of quality.
Feed-in tariff and RHI payments
In addition to our commitment to source and recommend the very best renewable energy experts for your installations, we will also provide up-to-date guidance and information on the industry as a whole. After 5 years of development and research, the Guild is still in its infancy, but we’ll be constantly expanding the website in order to create the ultimate renewable energy resource.
Most people’s motivation for introducing renewable energy sources into their domestic or commercial properties is twofold: to save and make money, while simultaneously reducing their carbon footprint. As a brief overview, your installation may provide you with the opportunity to take advantage of:
- UK Government’s Feed-In Tariff – if you install solar panels, you may be eligible for the feed-in tariff scheme, where you will be paid for the electricity you generate – whether you use this yourself, or feed it back to the grid. For more details, read our feed-in tariff whitepaper.
- RHI payments – another Government incentive relating to heat generating technologies, Renewable Heat Incentive payments can be made via the domestic or non-domestic scheme, depending on which criteria your installation satisfies. For more information, download our RHI whitepaper here.
